Bathrooms on a Budget

Is your bathroom in dire need of a new look, but don’t have thousands to spend?  Here are some great bathroom design tips that can turn your bathroom from drab to fab.

bathroomsWe all know the dreaded retro tile that takes up half the wall space and engulfs the entire room.  Rather than tearing it down, choose a color palette that incorporates the old and new.  Use paint, artwork, custom shower curtains, rugs, and towel racks to spruce up the space.

Scour antique shops for cabinets, mirrors, and artwork.  A little stain or paint can go a long way into refinishing a piece and bringing it back to life.

Search through local classified ads to find deals on essential products.  You can use backsplash tile to accentuate a focal wall, particularly behind the sink.

Upgrading lighting and fixtures sounds simple, but goes a long way to modernizing a space.  Choose the right light bulb color temperature can also influence the look of a room – my personal favorite is the daylight look.bathrooms1

Always wanted a chandelier?  Rather than paying an electrician to hook up a new light, use candles – they even make them with remote control on/off switches!
