Spring Break Activities 2014

Back by popular demand, here are some additional spring break activities for both kids and adults this year:

Great Wolf Lodge Waterpark

Great Wolf Lodge Waterpark – Just a short drive to Williamsburg, VA this 84-degree indoor water park is massive facility that can help splash the day away.  Water-packed excitement includes fun for all ages…from kiddie pools to jaw-dropping slides.

Newport News Park – Newport News park offers camping grounds, picnic shelters, hiking/biking/jogging trails, a disk golf course, anarchery range, an aeromodel flying field, a discovery center,  boating, fishing, and special events.

Geocaching – GPS required!  Geocaching can be found anywhere and everywhere.  A perfect activity to keep active and ensue teamwork!

Fort Fun

YMCA – As family-oriented community outreach center, the YMCA offers multiple locations across Hampton Roads for children/family activities, day camps, sports, programs, and more.

Fort Fun – One of the largest playgrounds in Newport News, this 14,000 square foot park is located in Huntington Park over by the James River.

The Boardwalk at Virginia Beach – A popular attraction for visitors and locals, this 3 mile boardwalk has something for everyone. Situated off the ocean, the Virginia Beach boardwalk is surrounded by beach, hotels, restaurants, museums, historical sites, live entertainment stages, a fishing pier, an amusement park, a video arcade, and more!  Handicap accessible.

Virginia Zoo in Norfolk

Virginia Zoo in Norfolk – Plan your visit to meet the animals.  The Virginia Zoo is home to 400 animals, on 53 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds.  And don’t miss their new arrivals, including Kellen, a baby giraffe born June 6th!

Jamestown Settlement – Take a journey back in time to visit the world of America’s first permanent English colony, founded in 1607.  Both indoor and outdoor activities available.  General admission $16 for adults (13+), $7.50 for ages 6-12, free to those 6 and under.
