What do I bring to Closing?

After an exciting whirlwind of house hunting, negotiations, home inspections, repairs, a walk-through, and more…it’s time to purchase your new house!  Closing occurs at the settlement company (chosen when first writing an offer).  The settlement agent has prepped the documents, received the lender packet, organized your homeowner’s insurance, etc… allowing minimal items needed to bring to your home’s closing.

What to bring to the closing table:

  • Driver’s license
  • Certified funds – for the loan down-payment and closing costs (amount disclosed on HUD statement usually 24 hours prior to closing)

Anyone can join you at the closing table, including family, friends, and co-workers, to help celebrate this exciting time!  In most cases you receive the house keys once the paperwork is completed.
