Virginia Living Museum‘s Night of the Living Museum – Enjoy non-scary Halloween fun for families with children ages 12 and under at the VLM. See fierce and not-so-fierce Halloween critters, learn pumpkin carving secrets from the Pumpkin Lady, conduct experiments with the mad scientists, experience the Spider Lady, make creepy crafts and play Halloween games. Visit the pirate cove, tooth fairyland and magical cave.  Take a nighttime hike along the outdoor boardwalk, and of course, enjoy trick-or-treating for kids throughout the event. Wear your favorite costume and enjoy the spooktacular laser show “Fright Light”  at 5:45, 6:30 & 7:15pm ($4).

halloween1BOO-yah! 5K & Little Monsters Fun Run – Join us for the 2nd BOO-yah! 5K and Little Monsters Fun Run on October 19, 2013! Port Norfolk is known for having amazing Halloween decorations and those pesky zombies that keep popping out along the race route!  Post-race party features food trucks, huge raffle prizes and costume contests for adults, kiddos and pooches.  This race benefits the Port Norfolk Civic League and The Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia.

Hunt Club Farm’s Halloween Festival – Join Hunt Club Farm’s annual Halloween Festival as they celebrate 25 years of HAUNTING HAMPTON ROADS!  Experience the three main attractions – the Haunted Hayride, Village of the Dead and Field of Screams.  The Haunted Hayride will take venturesome voyeurs on a slow-moving, spine-tingling tour of the pitch-black woods of Haunted Hunt Club Farm as psychopaths commit the “Seven Deadly Sins.”   The Field of Screams – a deep, dark cornfield – is packed full of zombies who like to follow and touch those desperately trying to find their way through the puzzling maze.  And the residents of the Village of the Dead teach victims – ahem, visitors – the true meaning of the word “captivity” in their torturous town of terror.

halloween3Busch Gardens Howl-O-Scream – Welcome the 15th Anniversary of Howl-O-Scream!  Starting with the introduction of four massively themed Terror-tories™, England, France, Germany and Italy are transformed into an over-the-top thematic experience that transports guests to another time and place full of startles and frights. Howl-O-Scream also offers a killer selection of food and drinks thanks to five, all-new, highly themed dining experiences and spirit bars. And the 15th edition of Howl-O-Scream includes an all-new haunted house, Cut Throat Cove™. It’s a haven for bloodthirsty, dangerous rouges where the scurvy dogs, buccaneers and scoundrels go for shelter. Proceed with caution.

Williamsburg KOA Campgrounds Halloween Weekends– Full of fall fun and festivities!  Activities include pumpkin decorating, apple bobbing and corn hole games, hayrides, trick-or-treating and MORE!

halloween012nd Annual Halloween Bash at the Virginia Air and Space Center – On Saturday, October 26th join the Air and Space Center in Hampton for safe trick-or-treating! Make-n-take activities, Haunted House, costume contest for all ages and scavenger hunt all part of the fun as well.

Ghost Train at Northwest River Park  – Located in Chesapeake on October 17-19 & 24-26, ride the terrifying train and see the haunts and ghouls of the haunted woods of Northwest River Park. The Ghost Train is a half-hour ride through the haunted woods of Northwest River Park. Spooky adventure await in the dark of the park.

Spooky Acres Haunted House – October 4&5, 11&12, 17-19, 24-26, 28-31 and November 1&2, head to Chesapeake to celebrate 19 years of haunting with the March of Dimes annual Spooky Acres Haunted. Located in the main entrance between Burlington Coat Factory and the movie theatre, young and old alike are sure to have a frighteningly good scare or two at Spooky Acres!

halloweenMerry Oaks Stables’ Haunted Barn – Every Friday and Saturday in October 8pm – 11pm in Portsmouth, for $8 per person join Hampton Roads’ most terrifying haunted location. All proceeds to benefit Diamonds in the Rough Equine Rescue.  Tickets are sold at the gate.  Prepare yourself for you are fair game to haunters.

Portsmouth Halloween Parade  – Peirce Island at 6-ish, parade starts at 7:oo pm.  Marching into its 19th year, the Portsmouth Halloween Parade is a grassroots, all-inclusive alternative to contemporary Halloween. Striving always to strip the plastic back out of the holidays fantastic, it is a celebration of community, creativity, resourcefulness and free expression which walks, stalks, dances, trumpets and drums its way through downtown Portsmouth New Hampshire each year on October 31. The Parade is entirely funded by the community, which rallies a number of benefits to raise funds to cover expenses of insurance, permits and police escort. Hundreds march in costume, thousands cheer from the sidelines.

halloween2Haunted Ship on the Nauticus – This Halloween season Nauticus brings back Haunted BB64: Three Decks of Darkness with even bigger thrills and creepier chills! Explore the bowels of the Battleship Wisconsin on a brand new tour route that will take you through previously unexplored areas of the ship’s lower decks – you never know what may be around the corner! Tours will take place October 17, 18, 19; and 24, 25 & 26. Thursdays 6:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. and Fridays & Saturdays 6:30 p.m. – 11 p.m. Tickets are $15 and $10 for Nauticus members and can only be purchased at Nauticus each night of the tour.
